About Us

Rites and Rituals Scotland is a not-for-profit organisation that began in 2022 as a place where people could come together to explore Spirituality through Ceremony & Ritual. Spirituality is often difficult to define, but for our collective, it is about living a life of authenticity while knowing we are connected to something bigger than ourselves. It’s not something we can always put into words or understand through our everyday sensory experience, but it’s a powerful, sacred force that flows through everything... from the tallest trees to the smallest rocks. Some call this force God, the Universe, the Sacred, the Divine, or simply that deep, unexplainable connection we feel when we witness something truly meaningful.

At Rites and Rituals Scotland, we believe that when you step into ceremony, you are stepping into something sacred and powerful. This belief infuses our work with a sense of reverence and trust, recognising that the rituals and ceremonies we create are not just human-made but are also supported by something greater. But that doesn’t mean ceremony has to be serious all the time.

We also believe in the power of laughter, joy, and lightness. Ceremony is about marking life’s most significant moments, and sometimes that includes tears of laughter as much as tears of emotion. We believe that humour has a sacred place in ritual... after all, life itself is a mix of depth and delight, meaning and mischief. Whether it’s a perfectly timed chuckle in a wedding ceremony, a warm, knowing smile at a farewell, or a shared moment of joy in a baby naming, we honour all emotions as part of the human experience.

We celebrate this sense of connection by hosting ceremonies for anyone who feels drawn to our work, regardless of their background. Whether you identify as religious, non-religious, spiritual, or somewhere in between, our ceremonies are designed to honour and explore these deep, shared experiences. We provide a welcoming space for people from all walks of life to connect with that sacred, unexplainable force... in a way that feels natural and true to them.
